Saturday September 28
Who: Errol Spence (25-0 21 KO’s) vs. Shawn Porter (30-2-1 17 KO’s)
Where: The Staples Center, Los Angeles
When: 9pm EST/6pm PST
How: FOX PPV
Implications: This is an awesome Welterweight Unification fight for the PBC 147 lb. field. We have the undefeated Olympian Errol Spence, vs the hardened champion Shawn Porter for the IBF and WBC Belts.
Errol Spence is the tall smooth Lefty that can box and punch with the best of them. He recently beat up on Pound for Pounder Mikey Garcia and showed he is an extremely well rounded fighter. People are projecting him as a future multi weight champion.
Shawn Porter is a guy who has won and lost big fights mostly in close fashion. He won the WBC belt from Danny Garcia and had a very close title defense with Yordenis Ugas. He is a rough and rugged fighter who will make any opponent work for 36 minutes.
I think Porter is going to come forward and make Spence work, but i do think Spence will rise to the occasion and show us the talent everyone talks about. This is his opportunity to make a huge splash. Spence will win a close but very good fight.
